First and foremost, we hope that all our Black River Mfg. employees and their families are all safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

We have established this link to keep our employees updated as much as we are able to. Please keep in mind that things are extremely fluid and change day to day. Because of this, please check our website often for updates.

Currently our customers plan to restart some of the automotive plants the week of 05-18-2020. They will provide us with scheduled start dates plant by plant. Based on this, we will begin calling personnel back to work on a “as needed basis”. This will be in line with our UAW agreement.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are forced to implement new safeguards and procedures that will help protect all our employees. These will be in alignment with the CDC and our trading partners guidelines.

Each employee will be receiving a welcome kit that will contain a new scan card for the timeclock that will allow you to clock in without touching anything. You will also be provided 2 washable face masks and inserts along with reusable rubber gloves.

Changes and new procedures will be provided and posted.

The summary of these changes is as follows:

All employees will be required to self-screen prior to coming to work.

All employees will be required to practice safe distancing of 6 feet.

All employees will be required to wear a face mask while on the premises.

All employees will be required to wear protective gloves while in the building.

Employees will not be allowed in the building more than 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift.

All production floor hourly employees will enter the plant through the covered truck dock at the rear of the plant. As you enter into the shipping dock area, your temperature will be taken using a touchless scanner. If your temperature is greater than 100.4 you will be asked to leave the plant immediately using the side exit shipping door.

Production summer hours will begin when you are called back 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

No one, other than employees scheduled to work, will be allowed on the premises. The gates at plant 1 will be closed after the start of shift. They will only be opened at lunch time, end of shift, and for material deliveries as needed.

All fans will be removed from the plant floor. All mounted fans will be disabled until further notice.

The designated smoking area will no longer be available. Anyone wishing to smoke on their breaks or lunch, will need to do so in their own vehicle, alone.

Employees that do not live in the same household, will not be allowed to carpool.

You will be given your work assignment for the day as you enter. Your personal carts will be placed at your jobsite prior to the start of your shift.

Violations will be dealt with immediately.

1st offense – Employee will be sent home without pay.

2nd offense – 3 day suspension without pay.

3rd offense – 5 day suspension without pay.

4th offense – up to and including termination.

We realize that these changes will affect everyone who works at Black River Mfg. These are extremely unprecedented times we are all in. We must take the new mandated guidelines and procedures seriously to protect everyone that works at Black River Mfg. along with their families at home.
